Under the life President Dr.Puttaraj Gavaigalavar Dr.P .G.A.S.Samiti’s started in1989.This samiti run by same educational institution panditpanchaxar Gavaigalavar Art’s college is also one of them. This college was started in 1991 P.P.G.Arts college involved 11Departments among them Geography is also one of the department this department started in 1991-92 academic year.
I the G.S.Yatnatti joined to this college as a Lecturer in Geography in the 1992. I am one handed Lecturer of department. The department is working with great enthusiasm to impart competitive and informed knowledge in both subject of the syllabus and others subject oriented matters. We conduct seminars for the students special Lecturers by the experts to get up to date knowledge from burning topics to forth coming problems in the subject. We inspire our students to read various books on the subject borrowing from the library to collect study material and to be well informed in the subject.
We also conduct Monthly, Quarterly, Midterm and Preparatory
examinations to test their progress in study. we conduct Quiz competition in our subject to improve their knowledge’s. I the G.S.Yatnatti joined the this college lecturer in Geography in 1992 Shri M. N. Kurahatti joined this department. at present I am the H.O.D and Shri M.. N. Kurahattiworking as a lecturer
Objectives of the Department
Geography is Natural Science It is one of the main subject in the Natural Science stem. Most of the basic research for betterment of mankind comes from Geography world-over. Realising the significance of Geography as a relevant means for progress in their mechanical and technical developing world, our department (Geography department) has set it Skeen goals on high stem to commit its endeavours at its best.
• To promote the importance of applications of Geography our department has set it Skeen goals on high stem and regularly motiving the students to prospect in their academic and social life through Geographical studies.
• To help the students to acquire the knowledge of facts, concepts terms and personalities.
• To motive the students to apply the acquired knowledge in situations, to(help) develop charts, in making Maps, Diagrams etc.
• To bring scientific temper and environment field in the students of Geography department,
• To teach them the subject in such a way as to make them to peruse the basic researching the field of Geography. And also emphasis is given to equip the students in the field of practicing requirement of the industries in context of Globalization and liberalization.
• Over them of Geography aspires the observing the environment and giving better appreciation of it and creating a desire to protect it and save it from pollution and destruction by the people.
Dr. P.G.A.S SAMITI’S PANDITPANCHAXARA GAVAIGALAVAR ARTS COLLEGE was started in the year 1991 by world’s greatest musician and a sage Param Poojya Dr PandithPuttaraj kavi Gavaigalavaru. The Present pontiff of VeereshwarPunnyashrma of Gadag. and the life president of our institution. The intension of establishing this college is to preserve and promote the Indian traditional music, Art and Literature.
I, the B.G.Hiremathjoined to this college as a lecturer in EDUCATION in 1991 at present am the H.O.D of my Department. The department is working with great enthusiasm to import competition and comprehensive informed knowledge in both subject of the syllabus and other subjected oriented matters.

Every year the percentage of passing has been in increasing trend the current year is passing percentage is B.A-I-100% , B.A-II-98.8%B.A-III-100%.
