Under the life Presidentship of Dr.PuttarajGavaigalavaru Dr.P.G.A.S.Samiti started in 1989. This samiti runs by several educational institutions pandit panchaxar Gavaigalavar Artscollege is one of them. This college was started in 1991 P.P.G.Artscollege involved 11 Departments among them History & Archaeology isone of the department this department started in 1991-92 academic year. I, B.M.Ganiger joined this college as a Lecturer in History and Archaeology in the 2003. I am lone Lecturer of department. The department is working with great enthusiasm to impart competitive and informed knowledge in both subject of the syllabus and others subject oriented matters. We conduct seminars for the students special Lecturers by the experts to get up to date knowledge from burning topics to forth coming problems in the subject. We inspire our students to read various books on the subject borrowing from the library to collect study material and to be well informed in the subject.
We also conduct Monthly, Quarterly, Midterm and Preparatory examinations to test their progress in study. we conduct Quiz competition in our subject to improve their knowledge.
