The college was started in the year 1991 by world’s greatest musician and a sage Param Poojya Dr Pandith Puttaraj kavi Gavaigalavaru. The former pontiff of Shree Veereshwar Punyashrma of Gadag and the life president of our institution .The intention of establishing this college is to preserve and promote the Indian traditional music, Art and Literature. I, Smt R.M.Kamat joined this college as a lecturer in English in 2011 and at present I am the H.O.D of this Department.
The department is working with great enthusiasm to import competition and comprehensive informed knowledge in both subject of the syllabus and other vital matters. In our department we conduct seminars for the students from relevant topics in the subject.
We inspire our students to read various books on the subject borrowing from the library to gather study material and to be well informed in the subject. We conduct tests , mid-term and preparatory examinations to test their progress in study, We conduct quiz competitions in our subject to improve their knowledge .
Objective of the Department
1. Prepare the students to face the competitive and academic examinations efficiently.
2. Increase the overall study performance of the students.
3. Prepare them to face practical problems in life.
4. Try to make them enhance their overall development.
5. Train them in the art of entrepreneurship and motivate them to undertake self-employment.
6. To Traine the students to become prominent and socially recognizable artists in calculating in them the sense of hard work, devotion and selfless commitment.
