Appeasement of aesthetic pleasure is an instinct of man and therefore we crave to quench  that  psychological need . The mode of such an appeasement is conditioned by the culture and the psyche of the community and nation. In our country this appeasement finds a proper outlet throughout HINDUSTANI MUSIC which has grown and developed over thousands of years. We all naturally crave for developing fine arts and music is the most popular fine art . HINDUSTANI MUSIC is a source of sheer delight and enjoyment We  have also to strive hard to keep our tradition alive and we have the pleasure to teach and train the students in the HINDUSTANI MUSIC especially to the blind, and physically challenged music is a source of self-dependence and self-reliance for such persons. Under the life Presidentship of Dr.Puttaraj Gavaigalavaru  Dr.P.G.A.S.Samiti was started in 1989. This samiti runs several educational institutions.  PanditPanchaxara  Gavaigalavar Arts college is one of them. This college started in 1991 has 11 Departments including Hindustani Music. It was started in 1991-92.

I,  Kiran Hanagaljoined  this college as a Lecturer in Hindustani Music in 2006. I am the lone Lecturer of this Department.   The department is working with great enthusiasm to impart competitive and well informed knowledge in both subject of the syllabus and other subject oriented matters.  We conduct seminars for the students nd arranged special Lectures  by the experts to widen the horizon of their outlook. We inspire our students to read various books on the subject borrowing from the library to collect study material and to be well informed in the subject.  We also conduct Monthly, Quarterly, Midterm and Preparatory examinations to test their progress in study. we conduct Quiz competition in our subject to improve their knowledge.
