Dr. P.G.A.S SAMITI’S PANDITPANCHAXARA GAVAIGALAVAR ARTS COLLEGE was started in the year 1991 by world’s greatest musician and a sage Param Poojya Dr PandithPuttaraj kavi Gavaigalavaru. The former pontiff of Sri VeereshwarPunnyashrma of Gadag. and the life president of our institution. The intension of establishing this college was to preserve and promote the Indian traditional Music, Art and Literature.
I, Dr Rajashekhar.S. Danaradddi joined this college as a lecturer in Kannada in 1992and at present I am the H.O.D of my Department. The department is working with great enthusiasm to impart competitive and comprehensive knowledge in the subject of the syllabus and the general matters.
In our department we conduct seminars for the students on relevant topics in the subject. We inspire our students to read various books on the subject borrowing from the library and to collect study material and to be well informed in the subject. We conduct tests , mid-term and preparatory examinations to test their Progress in study, We conduct quiz competition in our subject to improve their knowledge.
Objective of the Department
1. Prepare the students to face the competitive and academic examinations efficiently.
2. Increase the students overall study performance.
3. Prepare them to face practical problems in life.
4. Try to make them to have overall development.
5. Train them to setup independent self-vocations.
6. To Traine the students to become prominent and socially recognizable artist by inculcating in them the sense of hard work, devotion and selfless commitment.
