PanditPanchaxari Gavayigalavar Arts College, Gadag is second  under the Jurisdiction of Karnataka University,Dharward to Start the Mass Communication and Journalism Course at Under-Graduate  level in the year 1991. I,  A. S. Jamadar is working as the Head of  the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism.

We conduct serminars for the students and special lectures by Media Experts and Journalists to update knowledge in the field journalism. we inspire our students to read more news papers along with the text books.  We organise media visiting study tours and we conduct class tests , interaction with journalists and various departments.  The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism is successfully moving forward to create milestones  in the field of journalism.

Objective of the Department 

  • To train students in the art of journalistic writing, editing and reporting .
  • To equip them to enter the field of journalism with confidence and required training.
  • The object is to impart quality education. The department gives stress  to participatory  curricular
